• Wall Height (meters): Enter the total height of the wall, which includes both the portion below ground (foundation) and the above-ground portion.
  • The placeholder text clarifies this by showing: “Enter wall height (=Height Below Ground + Height Above Ground)”.

Step 3: Select the Number of Gates

• Number of Gates: Specify the number of gates you wish to include in the wall.
  • You can add more than one gate if your wall design requires multiple entrances.
  • The default value is 1, but you can adjust it according to your needs.

Step 4: Add Razor Wire (Optional)

• Razor Wire Add-On: Choose whether to add galvanized sharp razor wire to the wall. If selected, the razor wire will cover the entire length of the wall.
  • There are three types of razor wire available, each with different pricing:
    1. 450mm Diameter – Rate: 500 KES per linear meter.
    2. 730mm Diameter – Rate: 600 KES per linear meter.
    3. 980mm Diameter – Rate: 900 KES per linear meter.

• For a more customized estimate, click on “Proceed to Adjustments” to factor in additional considerations:
  • Inflation Adjustment (%): Enter an estimated inflation rate to adjust for potential price increases over time.
  • Contingency Allowance (%): Account for unforeseen issues during construction (typically between 5-30% depending on site conditions or trial pits).
  • Consultancy Fees (%): Include professional fees such as architectural, engineering, and quantity surveyor fees (often calculated as a percentage of the project cost).
• Once you have entered your desired adjustments, click “Adjust Estimate” to generate an updated cost breakdown.

Step 8: Review Grand Total

• The tool will display:
  • Adjusted Costs for each of the added factors (e.g., inflation, contingency).
  • The Grand Total (All-In-Adjusted): This represents the final estimate after all adjustments have been factored in.
  • Ensure that each adjustment is only shown once, even if it has been added multiple times for clarity during the calculations.

Step 9: Note the Key Points

• The note at the bottom of the table reminds you that all rates are in Kenya Shillings (KES).
